When are taxes due?

We are slowly returning to normal after an abnormal tax season. 2021 taxes are due April 18, 2022. However, taxpayers in Maine and Massachusetts will have until April 19, 2022, due to Patriots' Day.

Individuals and businesses that were affected by the Tornado in Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee have until May 16, 2022, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due on Dec. 10, 2021.  Tax returns normally due on March 15 and April 18th are also extended for those states affected till May 16, 2022.

The IRS  has announced that tax season will open on Monday, January 24, 2022, which means that they will begin accepting paper and electronic tax returns that day. The IRS Free File will be available for taxpayers to use on January 14, 2022, to get a jump start on this year's tax season.

Knowing when and what is due for your tax filing tasks is crucial for keeping up with your business or personal finances. Stay on top of all of 2021's tax day due dates with our complete calendar of IRS deadlines below.
